Stor Gul

Stor Gul is a Danish/Swedish or possibly French heirloom tomato. Stor Gul means "grandiose/big lemon-yellow" in both Danish and Swedish and this large golden tomato lives up to its name!

This open-pollinated golden orange tomato has a rich acidic flavor. The golden meaty flesh is perfect for a slicing tomato. Add a touch of gold to your next sandwich.

The Healthy Appeal of Yellow/Orange Tomatoes

All tomatoes contain lycopene, a healthy antioxidant that may reduce cancer, cardiovascular disease and macular degeneration risk. Orange tomatoes, such as Stor Gul and Tangerine, however, contain a form of lycopene that is absorbed better by the body.

Odd fact:

There is an enormous yellow rabbit sculpture named Stor Gul Kanin (Big Yellow Bunny) in Orebro, Sweden. This temporary building sized sculpture was created and designed by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman. It was built by 25 local volunteer craft people using local materials. Sadly is is not made using Stor Gul tomatoes.


Why We Are Certified Organic


We don't just say we grow organically, we are certified Organic. This means our farm and operating procedures are inspected, approved and certified Organic by Washington State's Department of Agriculture. Sure it takes us extra time and work to meet Washington's strict organic requirements, but we think it is worth it for our customer's peace of mind.

Growing organically requires more than not using pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. Plow Maker Farms has sustainable growing practices that improve our soil, create habitat for wildlife, and leave the land better than when we started farming. We take the time to certify our farm so you know you are getting the very best organic berries and produce.
